Manager – Audit/Employee Benefit Plans

Walz Group is currently looking for a seasoned accounting professional for our Audit Manager – Employee Benefit Plans. This is a strategic leadership role that would manage the employee benefits plan audit practice for Walz Group. This person would need to have experience with employee benefits plan audits, leadership experience, and a passion for developing and training others. This role also will be responsible for providing financial reporting, consulting, and other specialized services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you will do:

  • Understand rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA
  • Primarily oversee employee benefit audit engagements supplemented by some additional audit work
    • Special consideration will be given to those candidates who also have experience in other audit sectors such as nonprofit, construction, and manufacturing, and/or experience in compilation and review oversight
  • Oversee and assist with staff development through direct on the job coaching
  • Provide feedback to directors and principals in evaluation of staff
  • Develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm
  • Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Assist in firm administrative functions as assigned by directors and principals

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a similar degree in Business
  • CPA license
  • Strong ERISA and GAAP knowledge and expertise with at least four years of public accounting experience
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Extensive experience with employee benefit plan audits
  • A passion for developing and training people
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite products
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
