Helpful answers for your accounting, tax, and business questions.
If your tax return was delivered through SafeSend, you should receive an email with a secure link to access your completed tax return. If you create a client portal account in SafeSend, you will be able to log in and access prior-year tax returns and other submitted documents. You must use the same email you used to create your login.
You may also request a transcript or copy of your tax return directly from the IRS.
Yes. Email notifications will be sent from Walz Group at noreply@safesendreturns.com. To prevent the email from getting filtered to spam/junk, we recommend adding noreply@safesendreturns.com to your safe list.
Yes. SafeSend Returns offers a secure system to view and sign your e-file authorization form(s).
Look for https:// at the beginning of the site URL and a locked padlock symbol in your browser’s URL bar to confirm you are on the secure site.
The questions SafeSend Returns asks are knowledge-based questions pulled from public records and credit agencies. You may be asked questions such as where you lived in a given year, or when you bought your car or home. In the event the questions do not apply to you, simply choose the answer that accurately reflects this. If you don’t remember the answers to the questions, or you answer incorrectly, you won’t be able to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s). You can instead print, sign and return your e-file authorization form(s) to Walz Group
This process can be completed on any computer, smartphone, or tablet via a web browser. There is currently no SafeSend Returns app available.
Yes. You can download and print your return from a computer. If you’re using a smartphone or tablet, you can review and e-sign your return package, but you may not be able to print it. Please use a laptop or desktop computer for the best printing experience.
SafeSend Returns allows you to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s), but it won’t submit your return to the IRS. Once signed, Walz Group is automatically notified, and we will then complete the filing process for you, including submission to the IRS.
For spouses filing jointly, there are a few ways to sign via SafeSend Returns:
1. If both spouses have an email address on file, both will receive an email with a link to view the return and sign the e-file authorization form(s). You may sign simultaneously.
2. If only one email address is on file, that taxpayer will first receive the link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. He or she will sign the e-file authorization form(s) and then enter an email address for the spouse. The spouse will then receive the email link with identity verification questions specific to him/her.
3. If a couple shares an email address, the taxpayer signer will first receive a link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. After the taxpayer signs the e-file authorization form(s), he/she can then enter the shared email address again. A new link will be sent with identity verification questions specific to the spouse.
If you are locked out of SafeSend, first try resetting your access using the SafeSend login or authentication page. Follow the prompts to verify your identity and regain access to your account.

If both taxpayer and spouse email addresses were provided when the return was processed, both individuals will be able to sign the e-file authorization forms simultaneously through SafeSend.
To begin, access your SafeSend link and select “Sign Tax Documents.” Both the taxpayer and spouse can sign the e-file forms through parallel signing, depending on how the return was set up.
If your spouse is unable to access the forms, contact Walz Group for assistance.
The best way to send tax documents to Walz Group electronically is through your electronic organizer or the SafeSend Client Portal. This sends your documents directly to tax processing and helps keep everything organized in one secure location.
Accepted file types include PDF files, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents. JPEGs or other picture files are not recommended because they may not scan clearly. Apple files should be converted to an acceptable format before uploading.
If your files are password protected, please remove the passwords before sending. If the passwords cannot be removed, please provide the password to our team.
It is best to keep documents in separate PDF files rather than scanning everything together as one large file. This helps us identify and process documents more accurately.
Whenever possible, please send most of your tax information at one time before our early March deadline. Sending documents in multiple small batches can slow down processing. If you do not have everything by early March, send what you have and provide the remaining documents as you receive them.
If you still need to provide paper copies to our office, please do not duplicate documents that were already submitted electronically.
If you were not sent an electronic organizer and would like one, please email Organizers@walzgroupcpa.com.
Google Chrome is the recommended browser for using SafeSend. Using Chrome can help improve performance and reduce issues when accessing your tax organizer, signing documents, uploading files, or using the Client Portal.
If you are having trouble with SafeSend, try opening the link in Google Chrome before contacting Walz Group for assistance.

An audit, review, and compilation are all types of financial statement services, but they provide different levels of assurance.
An audit provides the highest level of assurance and includes detailed testing, verification, and analysis of financial information. A review provides limited assurance and includes analytical procedures and inquiries to determine whether the financial statements appear reasonable. A compilation provides no assurance and involves organizing financial information into financial statement format based on information provided by management.
Walz Group provides CPA assurance services, including financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations for businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations. Our team can help you determine which level of service is appropriate based on your needs, lender requirements, board requirements, or regulatory obligations.
