Helpful answers for your software, accounting, tax, and business questions.
If your tax return was delivered through SafeSend, you should receive an email with a secure link to access your completed tax return. If you create a client portal account in SafeSend, you will be able to log in and access prior-year tax returns and other submitted documents. You must use the same email you used to create your login.
You may also request a transcript or copy of your tax return directly from the IRS.
Yes. Email notifications will be sent from Walz Group at noreply@safesendreturns.com. To prevent the email from getting filtered to spam/junk, we recommend adding noreply@safesendreturns.com to your contacts or approved-senders list.
Yes. SafeSend Returns offers a secure system to view and sign your e-file authorization form(s).
Before entering personal information, confirm that the email was sent from noreply@safesendreturns.com and that the link directs you to the official SafeSend website. A padlock indicates that the connection is encrypted, but you should still verify the sender and website address. If you are uncertain about an email or link, contact Walz Group before proceeding.
The questions SafeSend Returns asks are knowledge-based questions pulled from public records and credit agencies. You may be asked questions such as where you lived in a given year or when you bought your car or home. In the event the questions do not apply to you, simply choose the answer that accurately reflects this. If you don’t remember the answers to the questions or you answer incorrectly, you won’t be able to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s). You can instead print, sign and return your e-file authorization form(s) to Walz Group.
This process can be completed on any computer, smartphone, or tablet via a web browser. There is currently no SafeSend Returns app available.
Yes. You can download and print your return from a computer. If you’re using a smartphone or tablet, you can review and e-sign your return package, but you may not be able to print it. Please use a laptop or desktop computer for the best printing experience.
SafeSend Returns allows you to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s), but it won’t submit your return to the IRS. Once you sign the forms, Walz Group is automatically notified, and we complete the filing process for you, including submission to the IRS.
If both spouses have separate email addresses on file, each spouse will receive a link and can complete the signing process separately. If only one email address is on file, the first signer will complete identity verification and then provide an email address for the other spouse. Spouses may use the same email address, but each person must use the link and identity-verification questions intended specifically for them. If either spouse cannot access the forms, contact Walz Group for assistance.
If you are locked out of SafeSend, first try resetting your access using the SafeSend login or authentication page. Follow the prompts to verify your identity and regain access to your account.
If you are still unable to access your account, contact Walz Group for assistance. Our team can help determine the next step so you can access your tax documents, organizer, or client portal.
If you selected “Finish” before uploading all your tax documents, please call our office or email Organizers@walzgroupcpa.com. A member of our team can reopen your organizer so you can continue uploading documents.
Please do not hit “Finish” again until all available documents have been uploaded.
The Client Portal is a secure, centralized location for client tasks, document sharing, tax information, and communication with Walz Group. Creating an account helps improve organization and efficiency for both the client and our firm.
You do not need to create an account to access a tax return delivered through SafeSend. However, creating a SafeSend Client Portal account provides centralized access to prior documents, outstanding tasks, payment vouchers, and other available features.
To create an account, click “Sign Up” or select the “Register Now” button in your onboarding email and follow the prompts.
The best way to send tax documents to Walz Group electronically is through your electronic organizer or the SafeSend Client Portal. This sends your documents directly to tax processing and helps keep everything organized in one secure location.
Accepted file types include PDF files, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents. JPEGs or other picture files are not recommended as they may be difficult to process if they are blurry, cropped, shadowed, or taken at a low resolution. Files created in Apple Pages or Numbers, as well as HEIC images, should be converted to PDF, Excel, Word, JPEG, or another accepted format before uploading.
If your files are password-protected, please remove the passwords before sending. If a password cannot be removed, contact our team for instructions on securely providing it. Do not include the password in the same email as the protected document.
It is best to keep documents in separate PDF files rather than scanning everything together as one large file. This helps us identify and process documents more accurately.
Whenever possible, submit most of your tax information together by the deadline communicated by our team. Sending documents in multiple small batches can slow down processing. If you do not have everything by early March, send what you have and provide the remaining documents as you receive them.
If you still need to provide paper copies to our office, please do not duplicate documents that were already submitted electronically.
If you were not sent an electronic organizer and would like one, please email Organizers@walzgroupcpa.com.
Google Chrome is the recommended browser for using SafeSend. Using Chrome can help improve performance and reduce issues when accessing your tax organizer, signing documents, uploading files, or using the Client Portal.
If you are having trouble with SafeSend, try opening the link in Google Chrome before contacting Walz Group for assistance.

An audit, review, and compilation are all types of financial statement services, but they provide different levels of assurance.
An audit provides the highest level of assurance and includes detailed testing, verification, and analysis of financial information. A review provides limited assurance and includes analytical procedures and inquiries to determine whether the financial statements appear reasonable. A compilation provides no assurance and involves organizing financial information into financial statement format based on information provided by management.
Walz Group provides CPA assurance services, including financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations for businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations. Our team can help you determine which level of service is appropriate based on your needs, lender requirements, board requirements, or regulatory obligations.
